Zooomr Launched … and not visibly different

by Chris Garrett on July 18, 2006

According to the Official Zooomr Blog we should be seeing the much hyped, delayed and anticipated updated Zooomr … anyone notice any difference?

Personally I can’t log in, and I can’t find any “forgot your password” doohickey to help me with it. Would be interested if anyone else has more joy and finds something new. Perhaps all the good stuff is under the hood, or something to do with Geo Tagging or something?

I am glad they managed to get around the denial of service attack that delayed their launch. Some gits out there have a sick sense of humour.

Hi Chris, thanks for posting about Zooomr 2.0

While there are many little things under the hood that have changed, the two big features we rolled-out are TagMap ( http://beta.zooomr.com/tagmap ) and SmartSets ( http://beta.zooomr.com/smartsets/build ).

We’re going to roll-out groups and some other secret things next week, so stay-tuned. We want to see the reaction to these features first.

Thanks Kristopher, I am looking forward to seeing the groups most of all. “Secret things” is intriguing!
