More details of Zooomrs Micro Stock plans have been revealed by Thomas Hawk
at Zooomr we are in the process of building what will soon be the world’s largest stock photography agency. We think we can pay photographers out 90% and still operate our business. We also are going to let photographers set their price on their images between $5 and $1,000 for royalty free images.

Big words, Tommy. But exactly how much bigger than Corbis or Getty do you imagine yourself to be?
I guess he is going to have to back up the words with actions, eh?
Those are some pretty bold statements. From my 5+ years of selling microstocks, I’d say I have some knowledge of how it all works. I’d be real wary of someone saying they can offer me 90% of the money. Their business model has not been selling anything, so they will have to dump a ton of money into advertising to drive paying customers to the site, not just the ones using the free service. And lastly, they will need to have one really stout legal team to deal with all the issues that come up in stock photography, lawyers are not cheap.
iStockphoto.com is creeping on 2 million images and have just announced that in a few months, exclusive photographers will have their images searchable in the Getty (parent company) database. Claiming that they will have the most images is going to be a hard task to accomplish.
Good point, they will have to sell a lot of pictures to make that 10% a decent amount
