Zoom Lense to the Rescue

Canon 70-300mm IS lense came in handy tonight. I am so glad I bought it. If it wasn’t for the sharpness of the lense and the image stabilisation I don’t think I would have managed to achieve this.

We were out in the car and I spotted the sunset and begged my wife to let me go back for my camera. Disappointed that I missed the sun at its full red brilliance we turned back and I spotted the moon casting an orange glow. Two minutes later I had swapped lenses and snapped this shot.

I am quite fond of this picture, I had to crop quite far to remove distractions and to make the moon large enough in the frame. Perhaps a lesser lense, especially handheld, would have lost the detail. After this I am pretty chuffed I bought it.
