Well, actually my photograph is interesting. Finally, almost a year to the day after signing up to Flickr, one of my pictures has achieved “interestingness“!
It’s not a big deal I know but it is a big landmark for me and I am really chuffed that people finally like one of my photographs. Hurrah!
If you are interested which one, it is the “Grazing” picture from my photoshop borders post. What is confusing is this picture hasn’t received even half as many views as some of my other pictures. I have had photos commented and favouritified more often too …

Yay, well done Chris, it sort of validates your work over a year.
I had my HDR in at 458 yesterday, but it slipped from the charts!!!
You can watch you photo go up and down the charts here http://flagrantdisregard.com/flickr/scout.php
I noticed someone alerted you to the fact so you can watch it which is great. I ran the scout and noticed I’ve had 6 of the past year, I had no idea at the time!

Cool I will take a look at that

The interesting engine is strange, it doesn’t seem to work on views at all (though I have heard a few hits help). Wonder what sort of algorithm it uses?

Damo, you might be interested to know you had one in the top 500 on my birthday!

Congratulations, it’s not necessarily narcissim to want some validation now and then. I’ve been doing photography for a while and posting it on my own site - http://www.aaronhockley.com - I recently joined Flickr but have yet to be interesting

Thanks Aaron :O)

just out of interest aaron, have you had any joy selling any of your images?

I’ve sold a few images, mainly to railroad-related magazines. I’ve had a couple more general-purpose bites but nothing that’s going to make me quit my day job.

if you want to track interestingness, be sure to use FlagrantDisregard’s Scout tool. According to it, I have 20 photos in Interestingness now:

Not sure how meaningful Interestingness is - some of my photos in there are definitely Not Good Photos, others are interesting really only to myself. Only a handful are anything to be proud of. But still, it’s cool to see photos in the top 500 for a day.
