What's this issue with us stopping you and demanding to look at your photographs says Mr Policeman?

Well, because I am a subject of H.M. pursuing a lawful activity in a public area and I have the right to do so without harrassment from policemen who are abusing, misusing and perverting the intention of so-called "anti-terrorism" legislation. That's the issue Mr P.l.o.d., not to mention your obscurantic, otiose manner and extremely poor verbal skills (and baggy von Richter-esque Police pantaloons, no doubt stuffed with pepper spray, tasers and a very small willy).

The crime being committed there is being committed by the Police. Give the UK police force legislation and they'll abuse it faster than you can say common sense and intelligence is dead let's all run freedom to hell in a handcart.

The government doesn't own me - I own the government! Once upon a time no-one would have thought twice if you mentioned that we have the right to do whatever we like so long as we do not commit a crime - as opposed to the "right" to do whatever we're told we can.

The government hasn't "de-restricted" certain freedoms - freedom of action is universal, subject only to certain restrictions!

Sounds familiar. I recently was asked to stop taking photographs in Birmingham New Street train station. They asked me whether I had a license as well. As they may be doubt myself at the moment, I had to concede. This is the photo I had just taken: http://www.flickr.com/photos/odreiuqzide/3120201371/

This reminds me of the unfortunate American toursist who was arrested in Zimbabwe as he took a photograph of the massive satellite dish outside of Harare. There, the uniformed goons were about to begin their strong-arm tactics until lawyers pointed out that the an almost identical picture of the same "sensitive installation" was featured on the cover of the telephone directory.

The idiocy of the two policemen in the clip is that they treated the man with the (and I'm guessing here) big camera with a big lens and no doubt a big flashgun as a suspect, ignoring all the camera phone carriers. Because perverts and terrorists like to show everyone that THEY ARE TAKING A PHOTOGRAPH!!!

Yikes. Far too many people would not be as level headed the situation as this photographer was. This sort of thing really creeps me out, especially for those people that are less comfortable really confronting the police and would just go along with what they want regardless if they have a reason to or not.
