On my recent visit to Canada I was unsure as to whether I should take my tripod or not. Being the first time I had flown, I was unsure of my weight limits and what I really needed to take.
As it turns out there was lots of things that I could have gone without, but my tripod was not one.
I wish I had taken it now. There were quite a few situations where a tripod would have come in handy, shooting the Christmas lights at the zoo, and the Christmas lights in the city. I did manage to take some passable shots, but being very still and taking plenty of shots to see which came out best, but none were completely focused.
On the upside, there are some mistakes that look quite nice that I would never have got with a tripod.
So remember never discount taking your tripod, you might just wish you’d have taken it.
