Memory Card Data Recovery Tool
Download Squad points to a tool that allows you to recover lost photographs from dodgy memory cards, CD-ROMs or your hard drive
PhotoRec is an open source multi-platform app intended to help you recover photos from corrupted media like memory cards
Luckily for me I have yet to experience this problem, I’m glad I heard about this software now rather than when I really need it!

Online Photo Editing
Wow this PXN8 is pretty neat. While it won’t compete with Photoshop, or even Picassa for that matter, if you are out on the road or in a cyber cafe and need a quick little bit of photo editing this is the perfect tool. It is all web based so completely online and allows crop, zoom, resize, redeye etc. You can even send the results directly to Flickr if you don’t want to save to your disk.
PXN8 is an online image editor with a user interface developed with standard web technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) which are available by default on all modern web browsers.
See it at pxn8.com
Until Flickr incorporates the functionality in the main site, as they inevitably will, this is quite a cool partner to Flickrs features!

Flickr Sudoku
I’m not a big fan of Sudoku. In fact, to be honest I can’t see what the fuss is about. Since when has maths been fun? This though is an interesting twist and contains two of my favourite ingredients; Flickr and technology – Play Sudoku with Flickr pictures!

DSLRBlog Flickr ShowPic – Show a recent pic from your stream using simple image tag
Have you ever wanted to link to your most recent pic in another website outside of Flickr, for example your homepage, blog, or as a forum avatar? Now you can with our latest service.
DSLRBlog Flickr Show Recent Pic Thingy
You can also navigate from the menu on the right.
Enter your username, what size to display and optionally a tag. When you submit you will be shown the HTML of an image tag and what the image will look like. You can then use this HTML in your website profile, or just the URL as your forum avatar/signature (for those forums that allow you to use external URLs) etc.
The way it works is to take your input then redirect you to the most recent, relevant image. So I could use the following URL
http://dslrblog.com/showpic/chrisgarrett/small/experiments/
This would be processed to find my most recent “experiments” tagged image and take you to the small version of the image. No scripting required, just a simple image.
As you can see there is a complimentary service called GoPic for creating links that always point to the most recent (optionally filtered by tag) picture also.
Please try it out and see what you think?
