The Best PhotoBlogs

I was just sent this Directory of the Best PhotoBlog Sites

Judging from the first page they do seem to have a few I am subscribed to in my own RSS, check it out for inspiration.

Talking about photoblogs in RSS, why the heck do 99% of them not include the image in the RSS snippet? It means I have to click through to the site to see the imagery and most of the time I can’t be bothered.

Photography Inspiration: 2006 Photobloggies Winners

The Photobloggies is an annual award ceremony celebrating photoblogging around the world. Through the Photobloggies, you can find some of the best photoblog sites on the internet

Personally my favourites are often in the runners-up category which shows just how subjective photography really is, especially at this level where differences in technicalities have to give way to style and artistic choices.

One gripe I have with pure photoblogs, and the reason I don’t have many in my feed reader, is how few take the effort to talk about their photographs and photography. For me these things are so much better with a little exif, a smattering of commentary. I want to know the intention, the idea, technique, what was going on, how they became inspired to take the shot if at all … that’s just my taste.
