Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Here are some new years pics from around the world…

THE TENSION: Images of the News: Sunday, 1 Jan. 2006
BBC NEWS | In Pictures | In pictures: New Year’s Eve
BBC NEWS | In Pictures | In pictures: New Year celebrations
Post a comment with your favourite new years pic? I didn’t take any, I was too drunk!
Happy 2006 everyone!
Beautiful Black and White
I just happened across some brilliant Black and white Photography.
I think it takes real skill to get the best out of the medium, I haven’t personally tried much pure black and white relying mostly instead on post maniuplation on the pictures I think it might work well on. Black and white certainly adds drama and tension though when done properly.

Photos of the year 2005
Well none of mine got in, heh, but Time have published their Photos of the year 2005.
I need to warn you, pretty bleak viewing. 2005 was a year of disasters as the pictures show. Great photography though, content aside.

Bush Assassinated Picture
This picture is a still from the soon to be broadcast mock documentary “Death of a president” which controversially depicts the assassination of George W Bush. They used archive images, actors and CGI to create the realistic scenes that have outraged Republicans and pundits calling it “shocking and disturbing”.
Politics and taste aside, it does look very skilfully done plus shows the ability of a picture to move people and cause debate!
