Every time I say “ok, that last camera kit purchase was the last for a while” something else demands to be purchased. I am an addict. I can’t help it.
You may have noticed lately I have been experimenting with light. Well there are two problems. One, there is only so much I can do with one Canon 580ex speedlite, a couple of office lamps and some white cardboard (fun though it is). Second, and probably the most severe, is those bloomin lighting 101 posts on Strobist. (I note this is the second time I have linked to him today, see? he’s eating into my brain!).
So I am attempting to buy everything on his list (apart from pocket wizards, my wife will only stand for so much credit card tomfoolery!). It’s going to cost more than a fair few indian takeaways this little lot. It seems eBay users across the land have cottoned onto the same items and are snapping up the buggers like they are going out of fashion.
And that’s the stuff you can even get domestically. If anyone has a reasonably priced UK source for the Bogen stands do let me know. Adorama are out of stock on a couple of things, hoping they will ship to the UK when they are back in.

Update: I just won my first eBay auction in six or seven years, a Nikon SB-28 flash! (see, I am not really a Nikon-hater, heh). Will let you know what it’s like and how it compares to my Canon 580ex if/when it arrives …
