More Free Colored Gels For Your Flash

You recall I mentioned you could get free colour gel swatch sample books from Rosco that were just the right size for your flash head? Well those haven’t arrived but on the same day I ordered some from Lee and those got here this morning! Just in time to experiment for my strobist bootcamp entry.

Lee have a good range of filters and you can use their contact form to request a swatch book.

I got the “designer edition” as it is in colour order, I am not sure if there is a difference in the others although the Cinematographers edition is larger apparently.

Let me know how you get on with yours.

Thank Chris, I also ordered swatches from Lee the same one you ordered “designer set” I hope they will accept to ship it to Lebanon :)
BTW I like your blog, I frequently find some interesting stuff to blog about when I’m out of inspiration.

    Regards

I’d ordered some swatch books after reading the advice on Strobist some time ago. I got impatient and headed to my local theatre supplies shop who not only managed to sell me enough filter to keep my flashes colour balanced for a lifetime at under £5 but also had some swatch books to give away to their customers.

Much much better than using Nikon’s purpose built correction filters.

Good tip! Part of my reasoning for getting swatch books is I am just starting out with this stuff so don’t know what I will need. Once I get more use out of certain colours I will probably buy a sheet or two (out if guilt more than anything!)

It’s worth a try, you never know unless you ask :O)
