I just wanted to say thanks for posting this and all the invaluable information here! I just started my blog as a way to get things rolling for my photography business. It keeps me motivated to get out there and take pictures everyday so I can grow and develop! I now have a place to showcase my work for all to see.

Just wanted to say thanks for the comments. I know blogging makes me more passionate about photography. It's another mode of expression that both forces you to think about your own photography and keeps you engaged with other photographers. I think both of these things not only keep you enthusiastic, but make you better.

And I agree - for professionals, blogging is almost an expectation now.

Curtis - special thanks to you for regular commenting. You've been posting a lot and you always leave good comments.

Harry - thanks for the compliment!

Blogging has been taking over the helm of other news media formats. Photographers were early adapters into the realm of blogging. We saw it as an opportunity to display new images quickly without rebuilding a website. It allows a photographer's site to stay fresh, clean and new without reprogramming HTML. Also, it allows the industry to communicate more. There is a bond among photographers who want to share their wisdom and insight to help others as well as keep the photography standards high within the industry. Blogging for photographers is no longer an option - it is an expectation!

Blogging makes even newbies in photography become more motivated in pursuing their passion. Also, it can be a good marketing tool for photographers who would like to grab a bigger market.
