the Canon 500D would be a direct competitor with the Nikon D90. Currently, i own an EOS450D and i want to upgrade to 500D so that i can take HD videos.

I like the looks of this thing. It’s likely I’ll buy one when they show up in stores (which I hear is already starting). I own the original 300D Digital Rebel. I was considering a 5D Mk II as my next upgrade but don’t think my skills and the type of photos I take require quite that much camera so I plan on giving the T1i a try.

Canon continues to deliver the best cameras at the best prices. We have actually used a Rebel for a back up camera before. They are reliable and produce great images.
