The most urgent update should replace the 1Ds MK II. It is still an unique DSLR with the highest resolution and the only one Pro-DSLR with a full frame (besides the 5D which is more a Pro-Amateur). But Nikon isn't far away (besides lacking a full frame on D2Xs) and even for a pro the release cycle should argue for a nearby release. I would bet on a new 1Ds with nearly 20 MP, 2.5" or 3" LCD, a lighter but higher capacity battery. On the other hand this probably will not become a topselling product. There aren't a lot of people who are willing to spend 5K+ £ for a new camera as their 1Ds Mk II's aren't bad cameras. They will probably not catch a lot of new customers. Maybe some from the middle format pro's but the rest will be already Canon 1D* customers. So, maybe Canon wants to earn more money and prefers to offer some new amateur/pro SLR like a 4D or a 6D. IMHO a replacement for the 5D is not necessary yet and the gaps between the 30D-5D-1D* aren't that wide to launch a new camera...
