Annie Leibovitz + NPR = Yes.

How did I miss Annie Leibovitz on NPR on tuesday? I must be seriously slacking in my news gathering. Check it out over here. Among other things, she talks about her great new collection, “Annie Leibovitz at Work”.
Here’s a couple of short quotes to wet your appetite…
“It’s a romantic story,” she says. “Can you imagine? [...]

From Reporters Without Borders…

Reporters Without Borders and the Burma Media Association are outraged by the two-year sentence passed today on Ein Khaing Oo, a 24-year-old woman journalist employed by the weekly Ecovision Journal, for taking photos of Cyclone Nargis victims. She was arrest in Rangoon last June.

Red Digital Goes EPIC

I could talk about the newly announced “SCARLET” and “EPIC” photo/cinema systems from Red Digital for a very long time I’m sure. I won’t though. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so instead of wasting all that time on writing what I think about the mass of information and photos that they [...]

According to ‘Amateur Photographer‘, the UK government is set to release a [...]

No Second Chances

Since I started writing for DSLRBlog.com (all of a few days ago), it got me thinking just how long it’s been since I’ve really been actively into photography, and looking through some of my old archives. It really got me thinking about how every photo is its own moment, and you can’t really go back [...]

Back to Basics: Flash or no Flash

Admittedly, I hate using the flash unless it’s absolutely necessary, so I may be biased when I say that I think people use the flash FAR too much. Often to the detriment of the photo they are trying to take. There are exceptions of course, but it’s very VERY rare that you actually need to [...]

Back to Basics: Shooting in “RAW”

While DSLR cameras are getting more and more affordable, it seems that less and less people are taking the time to actually learn how to use their shiny new toy to it’s full potential. Just buying a nice camera will not improve your photos that much. Which is why, over the course of the next [...]
