Amazing Composite Images

I don’t usually go for composite images, they generally leave me a bit cold, but I just had to post a link to Mattijns images.

I’m not sure how he creates these images, but they are simply stunning. You can find his work here.

Mattijns Playing Around Flickr Set. If anyone has any information as to how he creates these images I would be very interested, but I would guess there is a lot of digital art work going on here before he adds his composite images.

Colour or Black and White?

OK here’s the deal. Stare at the image below for 30 seconds, then roll your mouse over the image. Is it black and white, or is it colour?

Weird huh.

Here’s an article that describes how to achieve this effect.

Flickr Interestingness (Again)

I often wondered why my photograph taken in the museum at Leeds generated so many hits with little promotion, then I received an email a couple of days ago. The email asked for my photos that had been on interestingness to be posted to a pool, which got me thinking.

When I got home I checked the calendar in flickr and there it was on the 1st of March. I’m well chuffed, though I wish I had known at the time – I could have really hammed it up!. Maybe the flickr system could automatically add a tag to your photos or send a mail telling you that you have been featured.

What’s your worst photography experience?

I took this photo in an alley near Kings Cross. I felt rather ill when post processing this one.

I noticed the alley when I was out for lunch, I grabbed my camera and headed back. My initial photograph was to be of a plinth that has “Hold me” sprayed on it. I ventured into the alley and was immediately hit by a terrible smell of urine. I saw this grafitti and decided to head down and shoot it. I had my ipod on at the time and saw a guy gesturing to me, I was a little aprehesive as I was bring approached by a guy wildly waving his arms. I took off my headphones and said “hello”. The guy says “watch where you are standing mate.”

I was stood in human excrement.

It will stay with me forever……

So what’s your worst photography experience?
