While not necessarily easy to find, a good mentor can dramatically accelerate the success of a new photography business. The impact is definitely big enough that if I was redoing my list I'd probably add this. To make it more of an "action" step for very precise guidance, I would say: 10. Contact three established photographers and ask if they will provide some time each week or month to provide guidance and mentoring. Or something like that. Thanks for the good thought. I would also recommend getting at least one mentor to help you develop your business. When we first started in photography, we ended up working with 3 different, successful photographers that we learned from. We read their books, took classes from them, and followed in their footsteps. It cut the learning time down tremendously, and really helped us grow our own business faster. Great tips!
